Palestine is facing a water crisis resulting from the wars and ongoing conflict. Every day families are forced to drink highly contaminated wateror buy clean water supplied by private tankers: a choice that most Palestinians cannot afford to make. The water supplies in Gaza contain contaminants including high levels of nitrates which pose serious health risks to babies and children in particular (World Bank Report, April 2009).
Last year alone, your generous contributions gave over 100,000 Palestinians access clean water. Many families now have access to water tanks in their homes, mosques, schools, and hospitals.
But the need is still immense.
Our target this year is to provide a further 200,000 Palestinians with access to clean water.
