A Dire Need

 Palestinians across the occupied territories and the refugee camps of Lebanon and Jordan are facing an immense humanitarian crisis. Poverty, ongoing violence, lack of essential equipment and restrictions on movement have had a negative impact on healthcare and thus endangered Palestinian life and their right to suitable healthcare.

Poverty and high unemployment has meant that many Palestinians in all our areas of operation cannot afford basic healthcare and essential treatment.

Basic adequate services such as sanitation and clean water access, as well as major health and safety accidents and hygiene issues continue to undermine health for the most disadvantaged.

Interpal has helped provide humanitarian relief to Palestinians across the Territories and surrounding countries since our founding in 1994. Without the aid humanitarian organisations like Interpal provide to Palestinians, safe access to medical treatment and healthcare would be out of their reach.

Interpal’s Medical Aid Fund:

Interpal’s Medical Aid Fund works to:

• Support clinics, and health and disability centres.


• Provide medical equipment, medical supplies and mobile clinics.


• Support training for health professionals and upgrading of health services.


• Provide subsidies for healthcare for the most poor and disadvantaged.


• Support projects related to mental health, psychosocial care and inclusion.

These projects take place in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and the often forgotten refugee camps of Lebanon and Jordan.

Case Study

A Chance For Childhood

Fahad is a ten year old boy from Gaza, suffering from a life-threatening skin condition which causes bubbles and peeling on his skin, resembling burn wounds. The condition has stunted his growth and caused his hair, nails and teeth to fall out.

Having a normal carefree childhood for Fahad is impossible and he requires special treatment, care and clothing. These are beyond the means of his poverty-stricken family or are simply not available in Gaza due to the blockade.

Interpal has been supporting Fahad and his family for years, covering his medical treatment within and outside the Gaza Strip. We continue to cover the costs of essential medicines, equipment and clothes needed to cope with his condition.

Fahad and his family would struggle without the help that Interpal gives them. Through the continuous support and generosity of our donors, we can continue to provide Fahad and many others with the chance to live better lives under difficult circumstances.

Supporting the Right To Life during conflict

A sad constant for many Palestinians is the threat of violence and conflict. Whether Palestinians are in the occupied territories or the refugee camps outside, conflict has affected them and their families.

For those in the occupied territories, airstrikes and incursions have caused havoc and misery. Mass bombardments like that of 2008/2009 and 2012 in Gaza caused mass death and destruction leaving lives shattered. Interpal is present during times of conflict through its delivery of essential medical supplies during emergency periods via our partners on the ground. Our emergency relief ensures that we can give Palestinians a better chance to live and recover.

Interpal’s support has included providing hospitals with disposables, medicines and assistive devices for the injured and disabled as the bombs were falling. Interpal has also worked to provide psychosocial care for the traumatised in the aftermath of the bombing. With the generous support from donors, Interpal will continue to provide relief in emergencies.
