Alan Johnston freed

BBC journalist Alan Johnston shown after his release

All of us at Interpal, not least our colleagues and friends on the ground in Palestine, were delighted to hear the news about the release of the BBC correspondent, Alan Johnston, after nearly four months in captivity. We congratulate him on his courage and fortitude, along with those who secured his release.

At our seminar in May, stressing the need for a return to core humanitarian values, we joined other charities working in the region in calling for Alan Johnston to be set free. It is a great relief that this has now happened.
