OCHA Humanitarian Fact Sheet for the Gaza Strip
The first two days of March saw the intensification of ongoing Israeli army air and ground operations throughout the Gaza Strip. The Israeli code-named ‘Hot Winter’ operation which took place in northern and eastern Gaza between 28 February and 2 March resulted in a total of 107 killed and 250 injured.

Between 28 February and 2 March 08:
104 Palestinians (including 26 children) and 3 Israeli soldiers were killed
215 Palestinians and 27 Israelis (18 soldiers and 9 civilians) were injured
Health:
Of 1,036 patients applying for permits to cross Erez to reach hospitals, 683 (65.9%) were approved, 33 (3.2%) were rejected and 320 (30.9%) were delayed.
4 patients, including a one-year-old baby, died after being denied permits to cross Erez.
Water and Sanitation:
The Deir El Balah landfill machinery, which receives more than 300 tons of waste per day and serves 450,000 people, has been without essential spare parts for more than 10 months.
Consumer Prices:
Vegetable prices rose sharply in the last week of March. The price of tomatoes rose by 89% to NIS2 per kilo, potatoes now also cost NIS2 per kilo, which is an increase of 41%
