Case studies of five patients in critical conditions who died while waiting to exit the Gaza Strip
WHO is the directing and coordinating authority for health within the United Nations system. It is responsible for providing leadership on global health matters, shaping the health research agenda, setting norms and standards, articulating evidence-based policy options, providing technical support to countries and monitoring and assessing health trends.
The five case studies that follow are accounts of a specific period in the life of five residents of the Gaza Strip, put together in a biographical format. The information contained in these stories was collected by Dyaa Saymah and Dalia Salha, officers of the World Health Organization, WHO, in Gaza.
