Welcome to The Orphans Challenge

The Orphans Challenge was launched by Interpal in early 2007 with the aim of helping alleviate some of the sufferings endured by the many orphans of Palestine. Since the occupation of the Palestinian Territories in 1948, the region has seen a substantial rise in the number of orphans and widows.

The orphans have had their childhood, their families, their education and their provisions, mercilessly taken away from them. They are undergoing days of severe difficulty and hardship. However, amidst all this despair, there is still hope…

The Orphans Challenge seeks to offer as many individuals and groups as possible the chance to sponsor one of these orphans. Sponsoring an orphan means changing a life, restoring hope and bringing a much forgotten smile back to a young face. For just £25 per month, the very basic daily living costs of a young orphan are covered; this amount contributes hugely towards the expenses for food and water, shelter, basic educational and medical needs.

This small help goes a long way; it gives the orphans the chance in life that they deserve. It is true that orphans cannot change their pasts, but we can help them change their future. Many of the orphans sponsored in this way grow-up to become beacons of light for their community. They become teachers, doctors, lawyers, engineers, and more importantly, mothers and fathers who can teach their children and provide for them – thus helping build a vibrant new generation amidst all the difficulties and turmoil.
