Meet Rawan, from Lebanon.

Rawan
is a six-year old girl who lives in Burj El-Barajneh refugee camp in Lebanon. Her
home is in poor condition and consists of only two rooms.

Rawan
was born with a congenital deformity: she suffers from leg length discrepancy
and deviation backbone.
Rawan has had several operations and needs a medical
device in her leg to be able to walk.

Rawan is in grade one at the UNRWA Tulkarem School and she
is a very hardworking student.
She loves drawing and reading. It is difficult
for Rawan to make friends as she can’t walk, run or play. She would like to be
able to run in the school playground and race with her classmates. Her mother
comes to school with her every day and also carries her to the hospital. Rawan
spends most of her spare time playing with her sister Rana, who is also her
best friend.

Rawan
is extremely brave as she rarely complains about the pain.
She recently had
surgery. As the medical devices were too expensive for the family to pay, our Social
Welfare Fund helped to cover a part of Rawan’s treatment. Rawan also
received a doll to play with. This filled her heart with joy and she expressed
how grateful she was to Interpal and started coloring our symbol.

Rawan this Ramadan, please give us a call on
