“When my son was 2 months old, I noticed that there was something wrong with his eyes. I took him to the doctor and was told he had a retinal detachment. He has now gone blind in his left eye. He may also go blind in his right. Despite the fact that he lives with one eye, I will not lose hope, and his future will be bright. I want Yousuf to be able to complete his studies in the future. Taha Hussain was blind and became a famous writer and ‘The Dean of Arabic Literature’, Beethoven was deaf and became a composer and pianist. All of them had their dreams come true and so will my child, his dreams will come true”.

Yousuf and his family are Palestinian refugees living in Mar Elias refugee camp in Lebanon. We began supporting Yousuf earlier this year through our Sponsorship Programme. If you would like to sponsor a Palestinian child, give us a call on 020 8961 9993 or visit www.interpal.org.
